Time With You

When I say: "Time With you." I mean time spend on vacation with my family. We often time don't take vacations with family, because of lack of money, no vacation time from work or maybe we just can't stand spending 1 or 2 weeks with family. Family is what makes us smile, love, share & enjoy all the beautiful God given things we have. I recently flew to Miami to spend precious time with my family, and that's when I met one of the most prettiest chocolatest little 6 year old girl for the first time. My grandniece Paula, and she is adorable we talked, laughed, played & she showed me all the latest dances.

Now if I had not taken time out for a vacation I would not have had this chance to meet my grandniece. See that's why it's important that we take time to vacation with family, so we can meet all the newest members of the family. I am having so much fun enjoying my family that I have decided to extend my vacation time here in Miami.

Domestic Violence & Guns

When does it end?

Today is Wednesday, April 14th my sister 53th birthday a day of joy and celebration for my family, but.... NO

Just one block over from where I live on the Southwest side of Chicago a shooting accrued on the 7200 block of Mozart Street where I take my dog walking at 5am every morning. This morning as Kofi & I turned the corner the area was filled with cops, news reporters, helicopters, and the entire block taped off with yellow crime tape letting Kofi & I know that something serious has happened. I stopped to ask one the male reporters: "What happened?'

Reporter: " There was a domestic violence shooting in the home of 7248 and 4 people was killed."

That shook me up a a little, because I've lived on Francisco for 15 years, and this is the first time something like this has ever happened. I'm was shock to hear such news, because this is a day of celebration for my family, and just on the next block someone is morning the death of 4 family members. I'm stun by how close this killing is to my house & family.

So I ask:

1. Why is it so ease for people to get a gun?

2. Where or who are providing these guns?

3. Who's responsible for the cities gun control?

4. Are these guns being sold through our city police department.

What do I think? Hmmm

Pray for the victims & the person who has allegedly did this shooting.

Why Do We Do The Things We Do

I've often wondered; why we do the things we do? Is it because we just don't care? Or we have so little respect for ourselves and others that it makes us do the most degrading, outrageous and stupidest things. Is it that we don't take the time to think about the consequence behind our actions? I'm shaking and scratching my head as I write this.... Disappointment is hurtful. What I'm about the write may not have anything to do with this subject (I will not go into details... Sorry), but any-way I came upon a incident that really disappointed me. I felt a disgust come over me that made me feel hatred, dislike and I didn't want to see this person in my sight. I also felt an outrage of wanting to beat the hell out of this person until a peace & joy consumed my hurting feelings (I had forgiven though).

All though my desire to find the answer will not be fulfilled through my writing, reading or asking questions. I guess through my life experience, I'll really never find the answer or understand why we do the things we do.

My guess is that we just don't give a damn...

Spring Up Into Success

Spring is coming and we need to spring up into doing a new things by letting go of all the negative people & things that hold us back from reaching our goals toward success... Check this out: You can only complete your goals toward success by focusing on the things that are knowledgeable & helpful, do not allow the simple things to be a hindering force. I often tell my nieces & nephews to spring up(swim) hard and fast to stay above the water without drowning. Meaning: Staying on top of the game starts with a good education & leadership.

How many times can we say I love you? Not enough times to get people to understand the true meaning of love. Love is not the material things we have or give to others. Love is not just a hug or kiss for your loved one's. Love is not having relations with your husband, wife, boyfriend or girlfriend. Love is not a gift on Valentine's Day. But I believe real love is; Patient & kind, love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand it's own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never give up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

The gift that come from love is: Forgiveness, patience, kindness, love for truth, Love for justice, Love for the best in a person, loyalty at any cost, belief in a person no matter what.

Love has no room for Jealousy, envy, pride, haughty spirit, selfishness, rudeness, demand for one's own way, irritability, and grudges.

There you have it my take on what love is even though; Love is like a rumor everybody talks about it, but people aren't totally sure how to use it.

What Is Important to Our High School Students

I ask this question because just recently my niece posted on her Facebook page that she couldn't wait to get to school tomorrow because it was going to be a BIG fight. What is going on with the students of today? Why are they so excited about fights breaking out in our schools and neighborhoods? Why aren’t they excited about going to school to be educated or getting A’s and B’s, or helping out another student that maybe failing? What is important to our high school students? I coincidentally heard some female students complaining about getting out of bed for school. One of the students said: “I’d rather stay home to watch television…And another said: “Eff that I’ll go kick it with my man before I go to school…I hate such & such school.” I couldn’t think of anything to encourage these young ladies. In my head I just said: “Wow!”

So I asked the question again: What is important to our high school students? I was sitting with my twenty-six year old cousin the other day, and she was showing me how our young high school students can post their fights one on one or group fights on YouTube. I was amazed at the countless numbers of fights you can watch on YouTube. Our students seem to be angry, hateful, disrespectful, non-caring, envious, bitter, and non-fearing fighters. Why or how did our high school students get this way?

Is it because we have a lot of single parent homes or is it that the single parents are at work more than at home? Or are our single parents kicking it with a boyfriend, girlfriend or friends to often? What’s going on in the homes of these high school students? Is there not enough family time spent together or maybe not enough sons & daughters discussions about God, life, love, peace and unity? What is the real deal as to why our high school students are fighting and declining to go to school? Parents what are you teaching your children...Are you teaching morals & values in line with properties in life? How important it is to get a good education? Do you insure them that they are absolutely nothing without God in their life?

I want to get to the bottom of this as to why are our high school students fighting and declining to going to school.

Yes, I Am My Sister's Keeper

I want to close this 2009 year acknowledging an organization of women called Yes,I Am My Sister's Keeper. From what I've leaned is that this group of women teaches on self-love and empowerment to women of all colors, race and ethics. I was asked to befriend a young lady by the name of Chloe from my Face book page. Chloe seems to be a very inspiring and motivated get down to the business type of lady. It was unfortunate that she was recently out of touch for awhile due to a computer problem, but she's back and more knowledgeable then ever.... And so after a week or so I was then asked to befriend Yes, I Am My Sister's Keeper which I was honored to except. This organization of women seems to inspire and amaze me even more with their daily encouraging quotes and comments. So here I am writing a blog about it.

It brings joy to my heart to see that a group of women can come together to make a difference in each others lives. Yes, I Am My Sister's Keeper seeks to make a change in the way we as women should live, make decisions, set goals, stay focused and being productive. They also inspire us as women to always take some me time as well as teaching us on how to know who you are as a woman. They encourage us to get to know ourselves through self-love, peace, joy, and strength.

Let Go

Why does it seems so hard to let go? Is it because we get so attached that when it's time to move forward fear consumes us? So we continue to stay connected when we know good-in-well that we should have let go a long time ago. Letting go maybe one of the hardest things for us. We have yet to take full control over these words; "Let Go." It's a difficult decision that one must make when it may cause pain or disappointment.

Letting go can affect us deeply in many different areas of our lives. It may cause one to become violent, outraged or even mentally ill. We have to learn to let go be it a relationship, friends, boyfriend, girlfriend, children, and even if it's the death of a love one.

We have to let God move in our act of letting go, so that He can place us in a state of mind that letting go can give us that peace, joy, understanding, love and strength to know that letting go is a victory.

Letting go is knowing that you have overcome the need to hold on...I Grant you strength & victory to receive the power to LET GO!!!

Single Black Men

I recently read an article about five very single black men giving the low down on the availability of black men, women standards, and putting a ring on it.

Well! Ladies the word is that we need to check our standards. Listen up… The brothers don’t seem to mind a women with standard; but ladies your standards might be a little to high for the brothers. Word is that they are all not ballers. Sista’s y’all seem to want the men with the fancy cars, the big homes, and the executive jobs. Ladies bring it down a little it seems that y’all always turning a brothers down, you don’t compromise, ladies you make the brothers work to hard, and you have that attitude like I deserve this and that, but the brothers are saying; “No, you don’t!”


So my black sista’s, here’s why our brothers are turning to white women because they don’t put as much pressure on the brother like the sista’s. The white women give the brother’s money for whatever need, do their laundry, and get this the white women even let the brothers driver their dad’s Benz…Wow! If I did that my daddy & mama would beat my butt all up and down the City of Chicago streets. White woman are more willing, they compromise, and they are more about the pleasing your man first.


Ladies in order for the brothers to put a ring on it you must stop listening to your girls who either has a bad attitude or don’t even have man at all, and stop being obnoxiously loud or trying to be the center of attention that turns the brothers off. Amp it up in the bedroom be a little nasty, being a little loud doesn't hurt either, also be open to trying new stuff…And ladies the brothers said: Oral is a plus especially if your over 30.
