Black History in Chi-Town
Black History should not only be honored in the month of February, but it should be celebrated year round for the black people who have fought the good fight of faith to pave the way for our Black History future. Chi-Town has a lot of blackness to salute and honor starting with our President of the United States Barack Obama, First Lady Michele Obama, Our Black Troops, The late Mayor Harold Washington, Mayoral Candidate Carol Moseley Braun, The late President of Cook County Board John Stroger, and my former Gym Teacher and now County Commissioner Williams M Beavers, my Pastor H Daniel Wilson of Valley Kingdom Ministries, The late Great Walter Payton of the Chicago Bears, and Rappers like Common & Kenya West, Actors & Actresses Lorenz Tate and Sherry E Shepherd, and Singer Jennifer Hudson.
There are hundreds of other honorees that we can and should pay homage too, like myself Mary Hemphill Creator & Writer of In Hea’vona’s Words, so let’s stand and salute the Chicagoans that I have found to be amazing people in celebrating this month of Black History.
Salute
